Ohio top defenseman, Zach King becomes the ninth player to sign a Tender with the 2017-2018 Wooster Oilers. The 6′, 180lbs standout defenseman is from West Salem, OH. King, 17, played the previous season with the U18 AAA Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks. He will be attending the NAHL Odessa Jackalopes Main Camp this summer. King spoke about why he decided on Wooster when he said, “ The reason that I signed a tender with the Wooster Oilers is to provide me with the best opportunity to succeed and develop in my hockey career because of the excellent program, staff, and commitment to excellence that Wooster has. I am looking forward to becoming a better athlete on the ice and a better person off the ice and I believe that Coach Aaron will help guide and push me towards my goals, helping me to get better every day”. King had a very productive year for the Jacks this previous season with 16 goals and 12 assists for a total of 28 points in 36 games played. King has been an NJPHL All-Star Nominee in back to back seasons.
“Zach King came into our Pre-Draft camp and made a name for himself. He displayed a lot of skill at camp and also showed us a glimpse of his understanding of the game with his versatility. I am really excited to have Zach with us this year and I see him really impacting our defensive unit. I believe he will make a name for himself in the NA3HL this year”, said Head Coach Aaron Hernandez.
