Standout Michigan goaltender, Tim Carpenter becomes the fourteenth player to sign a Tender with the 2017-2018 Wooster Oilers. The 5′8″, 160lbs goaltender is from Ann Arbor, MI. Carpenter, 18, played the previous season with the Lansing Spartans U18 team. He posted a 93.5 save percentage and a 1.6 goals against average leading his team to a record of 28-4-5 this past season. Carpenter spoke about why he decided on Wooster when he said, “Daily competition is something I value above all else and the program in Wooster is exactly that. Coach Hernandez is someone who has already proven to me his dedication to the game, his team, and his players and I know that I’ll be pushed everyday that I’m in Wooster”. Carpenter is an accomplished athlete as he is an NJPHL Top Prospect.
“Tim Carpenter is an outstanding young man. He brings a competitive edge to our program. Aside from this, Tim has the makings of a natural leader both on and off of the ice. I was able to see this as soon as I spoke to Tim for the first time. He has good fundamentals and can flat out stop the puck”, said Head Coach Aaron Hernandez.
