Cole Barney delivered for his team with 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists) and Zach Zwierecki contributed with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).
In the first, Crowley opened the scoring for the Xpress with a goal at 11:26. Barney quickly followed with a goal at 12:53 with a helper from his defensive partner, King. Hillebrecht quickly followed with a goal at 13:35 with helpers from his teammates Barney and King.
During the second, Mock answered for Southern Tier with a goal at 12:41 with assists from his linemates, Lamison and Pearson.
In the third period, Frieson answered for Wooster with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 11:58 with helpers from his linemates, Dickinson and Zwierecki. Zwierecki put in a goal at 14:31 with an assist from defenseman Barney.
The Oilers’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Gillis as he stopped 11 of the 12 shots he faced. Gillis’ counterpart, Pascarella, also had a big night, managing to stop 35 of 39, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the Wooster Oilers’ record to (18-17-3-0).
