In the first, Malinak opened the scoring for Wooster with a goal at 6:36 with helpers from teammates Banyasz and Barney. Malinak quickly followed with a goal at 8:08 with helpers from his linemates, Frieson and Zwierecki.
In the second, Felser finally put Toledo on the board with a goal at 0:22 with an assist from Farley. Zwierecki answered for Wooster with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 18:39 with helpers from his linemates, Steele and Hillebrecht.
In the third period, Snyder answered for the Cherokee with a goal at 8:56 with assists from his linemates, Weinrich and Farley. Banyasz answered for Wooster with a goal at 19:57 with helpers from Barney and Hillebrecht.
The Oilers’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Gillis’ big night as he stopped 33 of the 35 shots he faced. Gillis’ counterpart, Brouillette, also had a big night, managing to stop 11 of 13, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the Wooster Oilers’ record to (2-3-0-0).
