The Wooster Oilers' offense had a big night, peppering the Toledo Cherokee with 35 shots throughout the game. The Wooster Oilers took the lead before the halfway point in the first on a goal from Hunter Hillebrecht and never looked back.
Cole Barney contributed with 2 assists and Turner Banyasz did his part, adding 2 assists.
During the first period, Crosby opened the scoring for Wooster with a goal at 4:23 with helpers from Banyasz and Malinak. Hillebrecht netted what turned out to be the game winning goal at 7:12 with helpers from teammates Barney and Zwierecki.
In the second period, Felser finally put Toledo on the board with a goal at 6:03 with assists from Weinrich and Koback. Critzer answered for the Oilers with a goal at 19:50 with helpers from Barney and Banyasz.
In the third, Malinak netted a goal at 17:58 with assists from King and King.
Wooster’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Gillis as he stopped 24 of the 25 shots he faced. Gillis’ counterpart, Gonzalez, also had a big night, managing to stop 31 of 35, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the Wooster Oilers’ record to (17-15-3-0).
