Michael Chapman becomes the second player to sign a Tender with the 2017-2018 Wooster Oilers. The 6′, 180lbs forward hails from Swartz Creek, MI. Chapman, 17, played this previous season with the Lansing Spartans U18 team. “Michael Chapman is a two way forward with high end offensive skill. He will be a great asset for Wooster to kill penalties and he will most definitely play with a lot of grit. Michael will also be the guy to chip in the occasional goal”, said Lansing Spartans Head Coach Ryan Kosecki. This previous season, Chapman tallied 13 points in 18 games for the Spartans. His Lansing Spartans U18 team had a great overall season and competed at U18 Tier II Nationals. His fellow Lansing Spartans teammate, Devin McCain, recently signed a tender with the Oilers as well. Chapman spoke about why he decided on Wooster when he said, “I chose to become a part of the Oiler’s organization because the program immediately came across as a hard working and successful organization that I most definitely thought would benefit and aid me in reaching my goals in my career”.
“Michael is very talented player with a lot of potential and I am eager to start working with him”, said Head Coach Aaron Hernandez. “Coach Kosecki and Michael worked hard to build a solid foundation and now Michael and I are ready to build off of that foundation towards the next steps in his blossoming career”.
