Top Michigan high school forward, Matthew Kesto becomes the twelfth player to sign a Tender with the 2017-2018 Wooster Oilers. The 5′9″, 180lbs power forward is from West Bloomfield, MI. Kesto, 17, played the previous season with the Brother Rice High School Varsity team. He notched 15 goals and 17 assists for Brother Rice this past season. Kesto spoke about why he decided on Wooster when he said, “I have decided to tender with the Wooster Oilers and coach Aaron because I believe he is the coach who will help me advance in junior hockey. It was a very tough decision, but I know coach Aaron will be the best coach for me”. Kesto will be attending the NAHL Odessa Jackalopes Main Camp in July.
“Matthew Kesto is a rising star. He has what it takes to be a great junior hockey player. He works hard every time he is on the ice and this work ethic is so far ingrained in him, it is all he knows. When you take his work ethic and combine that with his natural talent, the potential for development and growth are endless for him. I can’t wait to work with Matthew and see what we can accomplish together”, said Head Coach Aaron Hernandez.
