Late goal helps the Oilers defeat the Jets 3-2

Turner Banyasz scored the game winning goal late in the game as the Wooster Oilers defeat the the Metro Jets 3-2 in a home game at Alice Noble Ice Arena in Wooster. What's more, the Wooster Oilers' offense had a big night, peppering Metro with 27 shots throughout the game.

Zach Zwierecki did his part, adding 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist). Jeremy Schwartz chipped in with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).

In the second, Schwartz opened the scoring for the Jets with a goal at 18:04 with helpers from his teammates Cinato and Hansen.

During the third period, Zwierecki finally put Wooster on the board with a goal at 7:15 with helpers from Seay and Frieson. Stawinski answered for Metro with a goal at 13:44 with assists from his linemates, Davis and Schwartz. Dickinson answered for the Oilers with a goal at 19:21 with assists from King and Zwierecki. Banyasz quickly followed with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 19:56 with helpers from Barney and Hillebrecht.

Wooster’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Hubbard’s big night as he stopped 31 of the 33 shots he faced. On the other hand, Hubbard’s counterpart, Kormos, and the Jets’ defense did not have such a great night stopping only 24 of 27 shots.

This win brings the Wooster Oilers’ record to (20-20-3-1).
