Ohio high school top forward, Hunter Hillebrecht becomes the eleventh player to sign a Tender with the 2017-2018 Wooster Oilers. The 5′10″, 160lbs phenom forward is from Kent, OH. Hillebrecht, 17, played the previous season with the Kent Roosevelt High School Varsity team. Hillebrecht spoke about why he decided on Wooster when he said, “I was extremely impressed with Coach Hernandez’s program, the goals, and the standards that he has. The thing that set the Oilers apart from junior teams in other leagues is the exposure to higher levels of play. I feel like this is the best place for me to develop and move foreword during my career”. Hillebrecht notched 26 goals and 33 assists last year for Kent Roosevelt.
“Hunter Hillebrecht is a local Ohio player who we can’t wait to have in an Oilers jersey. He is the ideal prospect for our program as he has similar core beliefs in work ethic and attitude. Hunter is a skilled and smooth player on the ice and he generates productivity everywhere he goes. He has the mindset for junior hockey and we think he will thrive within our program”, said Head Coach Aaron Hernandez.
