West Virginia top forward, George Makricostas becomes the fifteenth player to sign a Tender with the 2017-2018 Wooster Oilers. The 5′11″, 165lbs skilled forward is from Weirton, WV. Makricostas, 16, played the previous season with the Southpointe Bean AAA team. Makricostas spoke about why he decided on Wooster when he said, “I signed a tender with the Wooster Oilers because I feel like this program is a perfect fit to help me develop into a better hockey player. Furthermore, I felt very comfortable because of the caring staff as they make you feel like you are at home and a part of the family. I am looking forward to working with Coach Aaron to help me reach the next level. Looking at his tremendous history of success, I feel very confident I made the best decision for my career”. Makricostas put up 33 goals and 30 assists in 56 games last year for Southpointe.
“George Makricostas made a name for himself at our Pre-Draft camp. He views the ice like an experienced junior hockey player. He generates productivity through his poise and decision making skills.
