Devin McCain becomes the first player to sign a Tender with the 2017-2018 Wooster Oilers. The 5’11”, 175lbs defenseman hails from Tecumseh, MI. McCain, 19, played this previous season with the Lansing Spartans U18 team. “Devin is the consummate teammate who cares more about the teams success than his own accolades. He is an offensive minded defenseman with an unreal shot and continues to improve every year. Wooster is getting a great player and even better person for their organization”, said Lansing Spartans Head Coach Ryan Kosecki. This previous season, McCain tallied 20 goals and 56 assists for the Spartans. His Lansing Spartans U18 team had a great overall season and even competed at U18 Tier II Nationals. McCain spoke about why he chose Wooster when he said, “One of the many reasons I decided to Tender with the Oilers is because I felt it was the best fit for me and to have the opportunity to develop not only as a hockey player, but as a person under Coach Hernandez. I’m beyond excited to learn from Coach Hernandez and I’m very happy to start my junior career with such a great organization”.
“I am very excited to have Devin sign a Tender with us”, said Head Coach Aaron Hernandez. “He is a talented defenseman with a very bright future”.
